Siege at Iron Mountain

Synopsis

In the high and remote places of Bech, the fortress Schloss Eisenberg (Iron Mountain Castle) was the armory where the old Imperator stored arms and armor in the event of general war. The Imperatrix too has laid aside a significant store of war materiel – and now is the hour when those goods are most needed. But the Eisenberg is bordered by the Eisenwald; a dark and deep forest from which few who enter return. The presence of marauding bands of grimjaws has not lessened any of the monstrous menaces of Bech. Today, some force has gathered those ancient foes into a significant, and unprecedented army – and their goal? To seize the armory at Eisenberg. The fighting companies of Bech are already committed in the war against the grimjaws. The mountainous terrain and dark forest, haunted by the legendary Jagermann, restrict the relief force to a band of fearless adventurers …who will answer the call?

Autumn comes to Verrakis

This event runs for all three days of labor day weekend, Friday through Monday and will be held at a permanent Renaissance Village in Corona. See photos of the site below.

The Illumin calendar leaves a lone, 5 day week at the midpoint of the year. Occurring just at the end of Summer, as the Autumn harvest looms, the Midyear Festival is a time of revelry, celebration and joy. But the Verrakans will never be outdone by their Illumin cousins. Midyear in Verrakis is a party for the ages.

The Road is Closed

Online registration is down. You may still register on site. $50 for the full event and $30 for single night. NPCs are $10 or free if you come in a group. See Rob, the sign-in guru when you arrive.

Summary

Syrellin, the Elven city, is all but lost to the world. Many of the High Road’s paths are closed, and the city itself under siege. They are only a few intact paths known, one of them deep within Culberron.

But Culberron is plagued with Grimjaws as well and the newly formed alliance has only begun to make headway against this threat.

The road will not be easy.

Early registration pricing has ended.

There are no parking fees onsite this game. Hooray! Early registration for PCs will be 40. This will go to 50 two weeks before game and onsite. Two weeks before game we will open the single night rate which will be $30.

This game will be free for NPCs, but a donation of $10 would be appreciated.

The attacks of the Grimjaws have struck many places. The nations of the West have all sent delegates to the Illumin town of Witchcross. There they will meet to discuss the Grimjaw crisis. Many nations want help and there is only so much of it to go around. With Grimjaws rampaging across the wilderness, and political turmoil within, it will be a tense affair.

The town of Witchcross is famous for its Witches Circle and magicians. The great confluence of foreigners, dignitaries and adventurers have brought many other travelers to Witchcross, to rub shoulders with the mighty and the exotic.

Online registration is now closed so that we can print up the registration sheet. On site registration for PCs is $40. Rob Telmar will be handling check in and on site registration.

NPC registration onsite is still just $10 or free with a group of 3.


There are problems left unresolved in the rapidly growing city of Ankhtaret. It’s position as the seat of government in Ikhten has led to a population boom and new construction and improved farming have raised it far above its once meager means. But its rapid ascent did not come freely and now the consequences must be met.

Meanwhile, there have been more and more sightings of the unknown grey and green skinned creatures. Their oversized mouths and their tendency to attack townships at night have earned them the nickname, ‘Grimjaws’ in the Empire. There are reports of their appearance as far north as Skjanos and as far south as the jungles of Aswahi. There have been no reports of attacks on major cities … yet.

The world is on the cusp of a great change as ancient prophecy begins at long last to unfold.

Abolition

The rumors sweep across the Empire and citizens and non-citizens alike are caught up by them. The Senate has been in an extended session and it is said that what they debate are the Emperor’s recommendations for the abolition of slavery in Illumin. In the far off provinces commoners argue the issue in taverns and bars like old politicians while many of the provincial nobles have begun to quietly levy militias and horde their tax revenues.
Now, after weeks of closed doors the Emperor and the Senate are holding court to allow the nobility and the citizens to be heard. Now is the chance for the Illumin people to witness where their leaders stand on this contentious issue. And of course, these are the Illumin courts, where obscured motives and secret agreements are a more esteemed tradition than the Emperor’s crown of laurel.
With unexpected guests, a possible execution and the looming threat of civil war, this is a pivotal moment in the grand history of the Empire.
