June Event-Wyrdcon

April 27, 2010 7:29 pm

June 12, 2:00 pm

“Shining”
Ages ago, the brilliant city of Pacifica sank beneath the waves. Once
heralded as a home of enlightenment, the city collapsed at its height,
when the dreaded kraken destroyed its magical network of brilliant
crystal and sent the island crashing to the depths of the ocean floor.
Risen once more, Pacifica struggles to reclaim its lost heritage. The
city of dreams would be a world power once more with its incredible
art, crystal, and mesmeric power serving as an example of how the
harnessed power of mind and dream can surpass the mundane world. Other
players on the world stage, though, may not be so accommodating.
Pacifica’s heritage comes with a darker side as well, and the ruined
remnants of the once-great city hold legions of dead and twisted
remnants from its fallen glory. And the kraken still lurks somewhere
in the deep sea . . .

You must have a Wyrdcon pass to participate. If you are coming to Wyrdcon we highly suggest that you take advantage of all the activities during the weekend since there is no single game price for this event.

7:09 pm

“Highwater”
A meeting of the Verrakan Guilds heralds changes in the political
structure of the Trade City. Verrakis defends its colonial claims and
land grabs while Grandmasters vie for continued authority against each
other. With leverage over the Illumin Empire through money-lending, a
mutual defense pact in the works with Culberon, strong ties to Ikhten
thanks to their naval support during the war against the Stealer of
Dreams, and new outposts springing up across the Western Kingdoms, the
Verrakans are a rising power. Money can buy happiness, it seems. Of
course, everything has its price, and the price of Verrakan expansion
may be new strife with friends turning into foes. Will the Illumin
Empire ever climb out of its debt to Verrakis? Will the Ikhten stand
for the encroachment of Verrakan colonies like Mirror Bay in the midst
of their lands as they struggle to form their own government? Will
avarice overtake the shores of newly-risen Pacifica before the city of
dreams can establish its own identity once more? And will Verrakis,
long the gateway to the Silk Road to the east, explode into guild wars
and rivalries?
