For months, rumors have slowly traveled across the Ikhten desert that an army is on the move. It is said that they march out of the East, seeking some sort of ancient relic. Their attacks have always been against small, outlying villages and nomadic encampments. Until now.
While the bulk of the Ikhten Council attended Court in Circadia, a lightning-fast, night raid struck the city of Tet-un-Namat. The raiders attacked the standing armies of the Ihkten Council, crippling the force there. The following day a massive contingent struck at Iron Gorge. With only a small number of Illumin legionnaires left at the town’s defense it fell to the attackers and the soldiers and townspeople were forced to take cover in the Illumin fortifications. Again, the army withdrew, departing to the East, leaving the town’s mines plundered and wrecked. Dispatches from Iron Gorge also mention smoke on the Eastern horizon, in the direction of the painted cliffs of Bar-en-Brassen.
These reports were delivered to the Ikhten Council along with a desperate plea. The lush oasis town of Uluom begs the Council to send it support as the full force of the Innumerable Army marches toward it.
