A few tidbits about the new site:
* Check out the community link above. You can post updates and such, comment on pretty much everything etc.
* You can subscribe to just about anything via email.
* Upcoming events are in the sidebar and link to Meetup.
* There are achievements to be unlocked.
* The forums are much nicer to use now. They react to HTML differently so some of your old posts may look funny. Just edit them and re-save them and they’ll tidy right up.
* Check it out on your smartphone. It actually works
March 4, 2012 at 3:55 am #9605New players and people who come to NPC, there is a new quick costume guide under ”Character Resources” on the above menu which has information pulled from the text of the players handbook and culture guides.
March 5, 2012 at 12:23 am #9619You can also create groups for your leadership trees and use them like actual communities in one place as opposed to extra google groups.
I am looking at you Black Gryphon Company and Ravenskar!
March 5, 2012 at 1:04 am #9622Omigosh! It’s so shiny! Yay new webpage!
March 6, 2012 at 1:38 am #9626The profile pics are a great touch too, for keeping track of who is who regarding real name/PC name/forum handle
March 6, 2012 at 11:12 pm #9677So I just saw a whole bunch of the achievements that Mary made, and it made me wonder:
Many of them are in regards to things that happen at live games. Are those just there to make us smile or is there a way to get them applied to our accounts? ’cause I think I might qualify for one or two of them.
(Why am I suddenly reminded of pokemon?)
March 9, 2012 at 8:20 pm #9716The Achievements are a website thing, mostly just to make people smile. You get them for interacting with the website, by making groups, inviting people, commenting on people’s status, sharing stuff in your status, etc. The site automatically grants them to people when they meet the criteria.
March 10, 2012 at 1:01 am #9723Oh I take it back. Mary created a few that are in-game. I’d ping her somehow or another to claim one you think you are owed, unless Mary says otherwise.
March 10, 2012 at 3:30 pm #9739Exxxactly. Basically, its a fun thing for interaction based on the old achievement forum thread (but only some of the positive ones so far), Morgan made a lot of site achievements, and I made a few IP achievements. I was going to start assigning them from this point on based on what happens at game and see how people liked them. However, if you feel like you would like one for retroactive happenings at events, please let me know and I’ll be happy to apply them to you.
There’s so many players I was thinking of it as a “going forward” thing. But I am happy to apply them going backwards (as I have time) if you give me a list.
March 11, 2012 at 5:59 pm #9906Ah, doling them out moving forward makes a lot of sense. The only one that I can’t get for a long time moving forward would be the “First Time’s Free” since my character has died twice now, and she’s not due to retire for nearly two years. All the others that I already qualify for I’m sure I’ll end up doing them again.
just the idea of DK achievements makes me giggle and giddy. You guys come up with some clever ideas. And I love the documents option in the groups, it’s so handy
March 12, 2012 at 10:56 am #9914Glad you like the documents! And the achievements! I’ll need to make a post after games now to see who did what in case I missed something at game.
I can’t take credit for the achievement idea, that was Davy’s I think, and totally on the forums! We may add more if people end up liking them! http://www.dyingkingdoms.com/forums/topic/dk-achievements/
Cheers,
