Taking a break from his studies Beshir decides to get something to eat at the near by tavern. One hour, two legs of lamb, and several castings of spirit offering later he sits down with Stephan and wonders if his compatriots have made any headway on the whole stopping the conjunction business. Maybe he should send out some carrier pigeons to inquire.
August 2, 2012 at 1:43 am #10873As if guided by fortune’s hand, Yoel chooses that moment to make his weekly telepathic contact with his brother. A familiar tingling in the back of Beshir’s mind indicates that Yoel is interested to speak with him, provided Beshir is free and willing to do so.
August 2, 2012 at 10:24 am #10874Feeling the familiar ringing in his ears/brain, Beshir answers his Brother’s mind call with the traditional Ihkten greeting for mesmeerinc communication, “Hello, you’ve reached the mind of Beshir. Please leave a message including your name, location, and pertinent message. Beep! Just kidding, I’m here.”
August 2, 2012 at 5:55 pm #10875“Word has reached me that many of our friends who set out on quests to activate the towers of Suleiman have begun to return. I wondered if you had heard from any of our allies in this regard. Also, how goes your training? I hope you have been attending to your lessons. Be honest with me. Remember, I will be by to ask Lazlo at your next parent/sibling-teacher conference.”
August 5, 2012 at 10:21 pm #10884*Thalion emerges from building Lazlo and Mirestar have set up for housing those apprentacies that have sought out training in classical Necromancy, have just dropped off the young Semha. He looks about, trying to determine which direction to head in based on directions given to him verbally.
After a moment, he heads off towards the same tavern Bashir was dining in. His eyes dart back and forth warily, and his left hand holds on to the hilt of Numinous. To the casual observer, it looks like he is being careful not to accidently bump passers by with it, but those who know him well can see his grip is tighter than normal, as if seeking comfort from it’s presence*

August 5, 2012 at 11:18 pm #10886Edfu finishes his business with some local tribal traders and slowly hobbles his way into the heart of town. He casually shouts at at a sun priest:
“Hey! Why don’t you learn some ice magic or something? The sun already pays too much attention to Ihkten.”
He continues on to this tavern where Yoel’s friend Bashir is supposed to be.
“At least my bones don’t hurt so much at home. “
August 7, 2012 at 12:26 am #10893With Yoel’s message in mind Beshir switches to a larger table with a bit more privacy. Reaching into his pouch, Beshir pulls out an ornate lidded jar just large enough to fit into the palm of his hand. Opening the lid he asks Stephan if he could do a quick favor for him, and to guide any of his compatriots who enter the tavern to his table.
August 7, 2012 at 3:54 pm #10894From outside of the tavern it’s denizens can hear the sounds of an odd woodwind instrument, one that seems to carry a calming voice through it’s notes.
A mere moment later Vincente La’Gaurdia D’Amore plows through the door, still playing, and nods to the barkeep with a “drink please” motion and jigs around the place to various happy faces. That is… until he sees Thalion and Bashir with quite serious faces on, to which his reaction is that of a rather sour note on his instrument, and a puzzled face. He grabs his ale and heads over to their table
“What troubles you, il mio gentil?”
August 8, 2012 at 6:52 pm #10895feeling as though three is better than none Beshir begins. “As I was not able to pull my self away from my studies I am not entirely sure who ventured where. Thalion, Edfu, Vincente, and Yoel if you are listening, which towers do we have represented here?
August 9, 2012 at 2:31 pm #10896Silly question Bashir, of course the Tower of Song.
August 9, 2012 at 3:40 pm #10897Beshir hears: “I am listening, brother. I hope that you do not mind if I borrow your ears (or at least one of them) for the purposes of this conversation. I have not been to a tower since we journeyed to the Tower of Stone several years ago, but I may have information to contribute to the discussion as it progresses.”
August 9, 2012 at 11:33 pm #10898Idhrenniel lets Thalion guide the way through the city. She barely keeps a foot distance between them as they make their way through the streets to the tavern.
August 10, 2012 at 12:41 am #10899Normally to make one’s way through the Hieratis marketplace at the lunch hours requires a certain amount of careful navigation through the ever shifting maze of people; for the two elves however, the sea of bodies seems to part before them as they walk. Perhaps it is the sight of two elves in armor, perhaps the medallion that Thalion weasrs, or perhaps the strange glow emanating from something worn about Idhrenniel’s neck, that gives the people of Hieratis reason to pause and stare, and to make room for their passing.
Thalion notices the various eyes on them, but the only signs of recognition he sees are when those same eyes fall to the medal he wears, representing the last time he was in this city. He continues to walk through the square until he sees the sign for the tavern that they had been told Beshir was having his lunch. With a quick glance at Idhrenniel, he moves to the door and enters the tavern.
A quick glance around shows Thalion the large, only partially occupied table that Beshir and Vincente are at ((I don’t know if Edfu has actually arrived at this point)) and he makes his way to join them.
“Letters,” Thalion says in lieu of a greeting, choosing to answer the question put forth. “Idhrenniel and I have returned from the Tower of Letters.”
August 10, 2012 at 3:33 pm #10900“Sit, sit. Have some food and water,” Says Beshir while gesturing to the open seats at the table.
“Well seeing that you two are alive and well, is it safe to assume that things at the tower went smoothly?”
